Before you pack up the car to head home for the holidays, take time to make sure your car is ready for the journey. It is easy to get caught up in all the holiday festivities, but don’t forget about making sure your car can get you there in a safe and timely fashion.
Check to make sure your tires aren’t worn out, have the proper amount of tread, and inflated to the manufacturer’s specifications. Also, weather can be very unpredictable, so make sure your wiper blades are not cracked, you have wiper fluid to clean your windshield, and your lights (both interior and exterior) are all working. Finally, check all your fluid levels including your engine oil.
It is always a good idea to keep an emergency travel kit in your car which should include a first aid kit, jumper cables, flashlight and a blanket. You never know when something could happen, so it is always a good idea to be prepared!
